SUMMARY


 

A production company specializing in diverse children’s programming is looking for an Accountant with strong accounts payable experience to join their thriving organization. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity with a daylight Monday – Friday hybrid remote schedule (typically 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home).

POSITION 


 



As an Accountant, you’ll work as a team alongside the three others in the department (CFO, Controller, and Revenue Analyst) and manage a complex accounts payable system with precision and care. The AP function in this organization is not your black & white typical AP process. The nature of their business is ever changing due to the programming and timing of productions and as such this role requires a person who is highly detailed oriented, thinks things through, isn’t afraid to ask questions, and is comfortable seeking out others to get answers they need to do their job. A person with a strong level of professional judgement, proactive nature, and good people skills is essential to performing this role.

Essential duties will include:



  • Processing invoices and payments efficiently and timely.

  • Posting expense transactions into QuickBooks and FileMaker databases for separate production budgets and programs, maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Preparing bank deposits and conducting monthly bank statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Preparing annual 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with tax requirements.

  • Managing company credit card administration, including tracking and reconciling expenses.

  • Reconciling donations, ensuring accurate and timely accounting of fundraising activities.

  • Assisting with annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support to the Finance team.



Required Qualifications :
 BASE REQUIREMENTS

  • Kindness, empathy, and flexibility.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.

  • Previous accounts payable experience.

  • Ability to allocate expenses accurately based on production budgets.

  • Production accounting experience is helpful to provide insight into the specific needs of production budget management.

  • Proficiency in automated accounting systems and Excel.

  • Experience with QuickBooks and FileMaker is preferred.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong people skills.
